U.K. Stocks Decline Led by Barclays; FTSE 100 Retreats 0.3%

U.K. stocks retreated, led by a decline in Barclays Plc. (BARC)
The benchmark FTSE 100 Index lost 0.3 percent to 6,000.04 at 9:03 a.m. in London after earlier rising as much as 0.2 percent.
Barclays dropped 1.7 percent to 283.35 pence after the Financial Times reported chief Executive Officer Robert Diamond is considering increasing the bank’s risk profile.
